15 Fall Date Ideas 2016

Cuddle up at the drive-in.

Being that my romantic side lives in the 50s, this has always been a dream date of mine! I can picture it now, pulling up in an old candy apple Chevy. Me in my peddle pushers and penny loafers with a scarf tied around my neck. Him in a white shirt and jeans, James Dean style. We cuddle up and share a coke with two straws while we watched The Mole People.

Now I don’t know if The Mole People will be screening at your local drive in, and you don’t have to dress up or anything, but it is still going to be a date that you will never forget!

Go on a stay-cation.

A stay-cation is the most under-rated type of vacation you can have, here’s why:

  • It is way cheaper
  • You can enjoy he comfort of your own home or city or general area.
  • You have the ability to relax and do nothing at all OR
  • You can check out a bunch of really cool local attractions OR
  • You can use this time to run extra errands and catch up on things that need to be done OR

You can literally do it all or nothing at all, or a combination of both!

Use this time to enjoy your partner. The possibilities are literally endless!

Go to a pumpkin patch.

This year, make plans with your honey to go pick out pumpkins.

Here are some ideas to what you can do with them:

  • Carve them together
  • Bake the Pumpkin seeds and snack on them while watching a movie.
  • Bake a Pie
  • Puree it down to try out various recipes.
  • Make a beer keg for Sunday football gatherings or your Halloween party.
  • Decorate the house with them.
  • Take a cute Fall themed picture together.

Explore your local farmers market.

Farmers markets hold so many hidden jewels that you couldn’t find at your local grocery store. You can find anything between beautiful fresh produce to handmade quality products.

Farmers markets can really open your eyes to new things.

We joined a CSA at our local farmers market and every week we get to enjoy organic fresh produce. Some of which are things I never would have thought to buy or cook before.

You never know, you could walk out with your new favorite chap stick or some locally harvested honey that you absolutely adore, while making new friends in the process.

Pick out outfits for each other from Goodwill.

If you’re looking for something silly to do with 20 dollars, this will be a trip to take!

Head over to goodwill and buy each other an entire outfit. You can be as goofy and silly as you like.

You will both be sure to have a laugh after putting on what the other has picked out for you.

Go to a football game.

One of the best things about fall is football. It’s the highlight of every weekend! Instead of catching the game at your favorite bar or at home, go out and watch it from the stadium. It’s a truly fun experience for everyone. The energy from the crowd, drinks and food during the tailgate, and  overall unity of people will truly make your Sunday a Funday.

Visit the local Renaissance Festival

Ren Fest is a great way to go out and just be weird for a day. Eat a turkey leg, put on a corset and surround yourself in the craziness of Renaissance. Check out some art, get your face painted or fill your cup with the finest mead.

You can find festivals near you on this site:

Put on your baseball tees and go to the batting cages.

Growing up playing softball, I always enjoyed going to the cages. It was a way to clear my head.

Going to the cages together can be fun and a good release from the stressful work week. Not to mention you can show your partner just how much of a badass you really are.

Laugh out loud at a comedy show.

Watching a stand up set in person beats a Netflix streaming ANYDAY!

Check out the line up for your local comedy club or track down your favorite comedian and see if they are on tour and coming to an area near you!

Grab some friends and do bar trivia.

Bar trivia is a fun thing to do with your friends. Go out and have some drinks and answer various trivia questions while enjoying everyone’s company. You’ll surely be surprised at all the random information everyone knows.

Make fancy cocktails at home.

Everyone loves a good drink, and everyone loves drinks better when they are cheap! All you need is to buy a bottle of y’all’s favorite liquor and ingredients for various drinks. You can stick with one simple recipe or try out different recipes. Get creative! You may even come up with your own concoction that y’all can enjoy together for years to come.  Not to mention you don’t have to worry about getting a DD or uber, you are already home!

Visit a local winery or brewery.

Visiting local wineries, breweries, or distilleries is always my favorite! You can just hangout and sample all different types of drinks. If your lucky enough they will give you a tour and show you how all the magic happens. Just be sure to wear closed toed shoes, some places require this for tours.

Spend and afternoon doing a pub crawl.

Pub crawls are a fun way to check out multiple bars in your area. Grab the gang or just the two of you and drink your way down the block.

You can make a drinking game out of it, or simple just say you will  grab a beer at each place. If you don’t like it, move on to the next. If you do, you can stay! Maybe you will find your groups new favorite spot!

Remember guys, don’t drink and drive. Grab an uber or call your local taxi service.

Paint a giant canvas together.

This is a fun project to do together that you can enjoy for many years to come. You can choose a subject or go abstract, each pick a side or map it out more. The end result will be something you can hang in your home and cherish everyday.

Grab a camera and take some photos in the leaves.

With the leaves soon to fall, beautiful scenery is about to be everywhere! Grab a camera, take a walk and do a photo shoot. Take some photos together and of each other. Even if they turn out bad, the adventure was one to never forget.
